A spokesperson for the governor’s office calls it just a rumor that the leader of Louisiana State Police, Colonel Mike Edmonson, will step down. Speculation is building Edmonson will resign as several State Troopers are to be subpoenad as part of an investigation into illegal campaign contributions involving the Louisiana State Troopers Association and there’s also a probe into taxpayer funded side trips by four state troopers.
A bill that’s been filed for next month’s regular session calls for a possible prison sentence and-or fine for a student who brings toy gun to school.
