A Luling man has been arrested after he allegedly shot his neighbor’s cat with a bow and arrow. St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne says Cody Dupre has been charged with an aggravated cruelty to an animal charge, while the cat is still living, because the arrow did hit any of the feline’s vital organs…

Champagne says Dupre apparently shot the cat, because he didn’t like it on his property.

There’s been several reports along the Gulf Coast of swimmers developing rashes after coming in contact with sea lice, which are actually jelly fish larvae. Texas A-and-M Corpus Christi biology professor Doctor Kim Withers says the best thing people can do is limit the amount of clothes they wear in Gulf waters…

DeSoto Parish Sheriff Rodney Arbuckle says a female body was found in a pond in the Logansport area. Authorities are treating the investigation as a homicide. There has been an ongoing search for 21-year-old Miranda Whitton, who was last seen on Monday. Arbuckle says it’s too soon to know if the body is that of Whitton.

The Baton Rouge Police Department is searching for a pregnant woman whose 3-year-old daughter was found wandering alone Thursday morning — and an arrest has been made in connection with the desertion of the child. Cpl. L’Jean McKneely says 39-year-old Robert Marks was with the daughter of 40-year-old Lyntell Washington on the night of June 8th….:

McKneely says they know Marks was in a romantic relationship with Washington. Marks, who is middle school assistant principal, has been charged with kidnapping and child desertion. He’s also been placed on leave by the East Baton Rouge school system.
