Another statewide poll on the US Senate race has been released that shows Congressman Bill Cassidy leading Senator Mary Landrieu in a possible December runoff election. Jeff Palermo has the story..:

Amidst the news out of Dallas reporting the first confirmed case of Ebola in the United States, Governor Bobby Jindal is taking action to ensure Louisiana isn’t at risk but is ready for any potential threat. Jindal and GOHSEP held a meeting today to get an update from state agencies to make sure the state is prepared if a case of the life threatening disease were to be present here.
An Amite cop is under arrest on charges including rape and kidnapping according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s office. Spokeswoman Dawn Panepinto says two different women came forward over the last two months to report a man kidnapped them and forced them into sex acts. An investigation lead to the arrest of 25-year-old Grant Carruth. Panepinto says you should contact authorities if you know of a similar case…:

Homeowners who overpaid for insurance premiums will soon start getting refund checks from the federal government as they’ve started going out. The federal government estimates that about one-million policyholders nationwide will receive refunds that average one-hundred dollars. Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon says n some cases, homeowners will receive a significant refund, because the Bigger-Waters Act produced significant rate hikes:
