A Swartz homeowner fatally shot an intruder. Glen Springfield with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office says their investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The identities of the homeowner and the suspect have not been released.

LSU’s Coach O is the voice behind PSAs aimed at getting more flood victims to register for federal assistance. The governor’s spokesperson Richard Carbo says he’s hoping these radio ads will get more people to complete the survey at restore.la.gov.

Carbo says about 20-thousand people have completed the survey so far.

The Senate Finance committee is expected to vote this week on a bill that would give financial assistance to police officers who are catastrophically injured during a targeted attack. The proposal comes as East Baton Rouge Deputy Nick Tullier continues to recover from the Baton Rouge police ambush.
