Governor John Bel Edwards is receiving an update this afternoon on the investigation into the shooting death of Alton Sterling by two Baton Rouge police officers. The governor’s office says Edwards will meet with the US Attorney’s office, the FBI and state police. CNN reports that police confronted Sterling after a 9-1-1 call from a homeless man who said he kept asking Sterling for money, but called authorites once he brandished a weapon. Audio from a Baton Rouge police dispatcher has been released that says there’s a man selling CDs, who has a gun in his pocket.
