Governor Edwards has ordered a full investigation into recent out-of-state trips taken by State Police Troopers. Four troopers allegedly made unnecessary stops to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon while attending a conference in San Diego. A Baton Rouge contractor was arrested again accused of defrauding flood victims. Matthew Morris was was taken into custody by Baton Rouge Police. The wife of the former warden of the Avoyelles Correctional Center has turned hereself in to authorities. Tonia Cain was indicted last month on charges of theft, malfeasance and injuring public records. She was the prison’s business manager until she resigned last May. Tonia Cain is also the daughter-in-law of former Angola Prison warden Burl Cain.
