Delta Regional Authority announces $72 million in investments in Louisiana to strengthen infrastructure, prepare for disasters, build the workforce, and support small businesses. Baton Rouge Mayor Kip Holden held a news conference today to defend his trip to Taiwan last week, during ongoing flood recovery efforts. He said he is completely engaged with what’s going on in his city…:

He says the reason he wasn’t in Washington DC with other mayors addressing Congress last week is because he wasn’t invited.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is investigating a boat crash in St. Mary Parish that claimed the life of a 7-year-old girl. LDWF Spokesman Adam Einck says the collision was between two boats and they are going to try to recreate the incident to determine if anyone was at fault:

He says 7-year-old Jaidyn Montet died at a hospital of severe head trauma.

LSU Coach Les Miles says he plans to play both quarterbacks Brandon Harris and backup Danny Etling against Mississippi State this weekend, but he refused to name a starter. Etling entered the game against Jacksonville State after a slow start from Harris. Miles says Harris needs a break and take a deep breath. The Mad Hatter added star running back Leonard Fournette should return to play against The Bulldogs this weekend.
