The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office announces two high school students have been charged after wearing a clown mask while riding around Central Lafourche High School today. Students Jordan Boudreaux and Taylor Defelice, both age 17 and of Raceland, were charged with violating the law which prohibits the wearing of a mask in public outside of certain holidays. A 14-year-old in Bossier Parish was also arrested and charged with terrorizing for making clown threats online.

Longtime district attorney for the 4th Judicial District, Jerry Jones, announces he’s retiring from his north Louisiana post effective November 1st. During his five terms as DA, Jones helped pass numerous domestic violence laws that aim to help women. He says they really made a difference in Ouachita and Morehouse parishes…:

Jones says his health does not allow him to continue in his position, as he was recently injured in a car accident.

Hurricane Matthew is churning through the Caribbean with maximum sustained winds remain near 145 mph, a dangerous category 4 storm. The National Hurricane Center says the forecast track brings Matthew near Florida’s east coast Thursday night and then threatens the entire US and Canadian east coast into next week. The University of Florida announced today that there has been no change in the status of Saturday’s LSU game in Gainsville.
