Secretary of State Tom Schedler is asking President-elect Donald Trump to undo President Obama’s designation that all 50 states’ election systems to be considered “critical infrastructure.” Schelder says he can work with federal security officials without this designation…:

He says it’s unclear why a critical classification is necessary, when there was no credible evidence of hacking discovered in any state during the November 2016 election.

A new poll from CBS finds President Barack Obama’s approval rating is over 60-percent nationally; but not in Louisiana. Local pollster Bernie Pinsonat says although many Americans are not in favor of the president’s policies..:

But he says Mr. Obama has been unpopular in the Bayou State throughout his entire term.

Shreveport Police say an 11-year-old has been arrested on armed robbery charges. Corporal Marcus Hines says surveillance video shows the juvenile pulled a gun on a woman at an ATM around 10 p.m. Saturday and made off with a small amount of cash…:

The man who was shot and killed by a Slidell homeowner when he was in the front yard of the residence was on a severe amount of cough syrup. St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Randy Smith says the shooter, 24-year-old Shane Hicks, told deputies that he was inside his home when he heard a loud noise outside:

He believes Hicks feared for his life when he shot and killed Flores. The victim’s girlfriend told cops Flores had been on an excessive amount of cold medicine at the time. For now, no charges have been filed against Hicks.
