Governor Bobby Jindal today was at the “topping off” ceremony near the top of the nine-floor IBM technology center under construction in Baton Rouge. The event was to celebrate the last grider being put into place as part of the building’s erection. Work is slated for completion in May 2015.

State Police say a suspected drunk driver heading the wrong way on a four-lane highway in Beauregard Parish struck another vehicle head-on, resulting in three fatalities. State Police Sergeant James Anderson says 28-year-old Kristi Poteet was driving south in the northbound lanes of US 171 when she hit 41-year-old Ricky Gill’s vehicle head on.
