The Shreveport Police Department and several other law enforcement agencies continue to search for the killer of 29-year-old Officer Thomas LaValley who was from St. Amant. The FBI and US Marshals have joined in offering a $25,000 reward. Investigators say LaValley was in full uniform in the line of duty when they believe 27-year-old Grover Cannon shot him multiple times. The officer died at a local hospital and Cannon remains on the run.
NOAA says there is now a 90% chance of a below-normal hurricane season in their updated 2015 forecast. Lead seasonal hurricane forecaster, Gerry Bell, says the atmospheric conditions like strong vertical wind shear come along with El Nino and low sea-surface temperatures are also making for this below average hurricane season:

State Police says some license plate shuffingly will be taking place soon as they are currently running out of combinations of three letters followed by three numbers. The plan is to reverse the configuration on new plates to three numbers followed by three letters. Lt. JB Slaton says this change will give the Office of Motor Vehicles a little breathing room…:
