State Police is investigating an Iberia Parish crash which claimed the life of a Jeanerette Police officer. Master Trooper Brooks David says 22-year-old Juandre Gilliam was conducting a traffic stop when the suspect fled. Detectives determined the cop crashed his car in the chase and it overturned…:

There are two suspects, one a juvenile, and charges are pending in the tragedy.

Abita Brewing Company announces their $30 million dollar expansion in Abita Springs is now complete. President David Blossman says now they’ll be able to push out up to 400,000 barrels a year where as before they had capacity restraints in peak times…:

LSU defensive back Jalen Mills’ will not have to go to trial on his simple battery case after accepting a one-year pretrial diversion program to resolve the charge. Prosecutors say included in the program is that Mills has to perform 30 hours of community service and can’t get arrested or do drugs. The charge stemmed from a woman who claimed Mills punched her last May.
