30 Independence High students have now been removed from the school following a massive brawl that broke out Tuesday on the campus. The event has apparently caused lasting issues on the campus as another fight occurred this morning. The cause of the altercation is still under investigation, and students who have been removed will not be allowed back to school until after a disciplinary hearing is held for each one. Classes and normal business hours are back on for the school at this time.
The Poor People’s Campaign is touring through Louisiana this week, aiming to mobilize more activists to join their national push for elected leaders to address poverty and adopt their “Moral Agenda”. Louisiana Tri-Chair Omari Ho-Sang says at least 50 percent of Louisiana residents are considered poor or low-income, and they’re hoping to mobilize more of them to become politically active…

The campaign has visited Shreveport, and St. James Parish, and is scheduled to visit Baton Rouge next week.
A woman claims Carencro Police broke the wrist of her autistic 28-year-old son Derrick and has filed a complaint against the department. Police Chief David Anderson says the Cynthia Moody contacted the department after an officer had an altercation with her son.
