Elsewhere the Purple and gold locked down four star defensive back Maurice Hampton out of Memphis.
A now former Vermilion Parish deputy is out of a job and behind bars after an investigation by the special victims unit of state police. State Police Sgt. Jared Sandifer says several agencies contributed to the investigation and arrest of 42-year-old Bryan Kibodeaux of Abbeville for sexual abuse of a minor.
The investigation began in January.
Filing your taxes will be a bit different from recent years with 2018 being the first year of the Trump administration’s implementation of a new tax plan. CPA Carrie Grinnell says the taxpayers will notice the standard deduction is higher, but the forecast is that a majority of taxpayers may see that offset by the lack of itemized deductions.

Grinnell says she’s heard from the IRS that tax refunds should be processed and distributed just as timely as it was in past years.
President Donald Trump spoke to the nation last night for this year’s State of the Union address. The President and his Republican allies in Congress attempted and failed earlier in the term to make sweeping changes to healthcare, including several votes to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Cassidy says the President understands the country’s healthcare system is still in need of reform.
