State Police are investigating a LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy-involved shooting that happened last night in Whitehall. State Police says deputies attempted to serve a felony warrant for 29-year old Jessie Hudnall. Hudnall fled to a residence and barricaded himself inside, gunfire was exchanged. Hudnall was later pronounced dead. A deputy also sustained injuries.

Army Veteran and Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins receives an endorsement from President Barack Obama for U-S Senate. UL-Lafayette Poli Sci Professor Pearson Cross says there has not been much attention focused on this Senate race because Louisiana is perceived as a red state and it’s unlikely to flip.
Perkins is running against incumbent Republican Bill Cassidy.
Myles Brennan will be in the spotlight as quarterback tomorrow when LSU kicks off the season. Brennan has appeared in 17 games for the Tigers since 2017, mostly in mop up duty. The six-foot-four junior was asked how he’ll keep his emotions in check now that he’s the starter.
