Gaining an hour of sleep Sunday as standard time begins sounds like a win but sleep experts say the time shift in time can have unfavorable health effects on many people.  During standard time days become shorter. The southbound portion of Interstate 55 damaged by the 168-vehicle pileup that killed seven people in St. John the Baptist Parish will close Saturday from 7 am to 1 pm. Motorists are encouraged to use Old US 51 as an alternate route. The northbound lanes remain closed.
