A robocall poll taken on Monday finds the governor’s race is in a virtual tie, with Democratic Governor John Bel Edwards and Republican Eddie Rispone tied at 49 percent. Edgewater Research conducted a similar survey in October after the primary and Edwards had a four-percentage point lead. Edgewater Research pollster Edward Chervenak says more Republicans participated in this latest survey…

The state Department of Environmental Quality has two new Mobile Air Monitoring Labs. Assistant secretary for environmental assessment Roger Gingles says the units have all the bells and whistles to help sample and analyze air quality data on-site and in real-time.

The state of the Lung Cancer Report finds Louisiana ranks near the bottom when it comes to the five-year survival rate, with just 17-percent of those diagnosed surviving the disease survive. LSU pulmonary critical care professor of medicine Doctor Stephen Kantrow advises longtime smokers to get an annual CT scan because early detection is the key to survival. The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office says the search continues for 33-year-old Kenneth Cole, who has not been seen since November 2015. Cole’s vehicle was recovered days after he was reported missing, but sheriff’s office spokesperson Cind Chadwick says there was no evidence of foul play, and friends and family say he gave no indication he was set to disappear…
