Air Force One has touched down in Lake Charles as President Donald Trump is in southwest Louisiana to visit Sempra Energy’s 10-billion dollar Cameron Parish natural gas export facility. Tonight, the president will attend a fundraiser in Metairie.

For the third consecutive year, US News and World Report ranks Louisiana as the worst state in the country. Louisiana also ranks last for crime, and opportunity. Louisiana’s economy is ranked 49th and education 48th. The House Transportation Committee has approved a measure that eliminates the need for getting an inspection sticker. The bill’s author, Stonewall Representative, Larry Bagley says instead of paying a 10-dollar fee for a one-year inspection sticker, his bill would add 10-dollars to your vehicle registration fee and the money would pay for 150 new state troopers
