The LSU Board of Supervisors has formally approved a motion to remove Troy Middleton’s name from the main library. Middleton is a former LSU president who had segregationist views. At today’s board meeting, former lawmaker Woody Jenkins spoke on behalf of the Middleton family, who opposes the decision. Jenkins called Middleton an American World War One and Two war hero.

But Governor Edwards, a former Army paratrooper, says that’s no excuse for Middleton’s views on race.

A steroid called dexamethasone (dek-suh-meh-thuh-sown) has shown it can reduce the risk of death for seriously ill COVID-19 patients by a third. Kevin Barnhart spoke with a Tulane doctor who used it on patients.
