On Wednesday the House voted for an impeachment inquiry of President Biden, so an investigation can begin to see if the President profited or was involved in any illegal business dealings with his son Hunter Biden. The Advocate Washington Bureau Chief Mark Ballard believes the vote along party lines for an impeachment inquiry is merely pressure from far-right conservatives on Speaker Mike Johnson.

Ballard believes there won’t be enough votes when Congress returns in 2024 for an actual impeachment unless something substantial is uncovered in the inquiry.
