The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the sudden death of an inmate, who is the father of former LSU linebacker Devin White. Thomas was in the Natchitoches Parish jail awaiting trial on federal charges, when he began to complain about severe back pain. Authorities say Thomas became unresponsive on his way to the hospital and died a short time later.

Senator John Kennedy announced today he’s seriously considering running for governor next year. Kennedy was re-elected last week to a second term in the U-S Senate, but Democrats will keep control of the Senate.
