One community in Caddo Parish is grieving the senseless line-of-duty killing of a Vivian police officer. Colleen Crain reports.

A former University of New Orleans basketball player owns up to his mistake. Dae Dae Hunter appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America this morning and admitted to his role in a point shaving scandal. Hunter said he did it to get money to care for his newborn child.

A chemistry professor at Southeastern Louisiana University has filed a grievance against the school, asking to be reinstated as the lead of the Lake Maurepas Monitoring Project. William Most, the attorney who represents Dr. Fereshteh Emami (fuh-RESH-teh uh-MAH-mee), says she was removed after she had issued her report on levels of toxic metals and pollution in the lake.

The Pelicans over the weekend fired fifth year head coach Willie Green after the team stumbled to a 2-and-10 start. James Borrego was named interim head coach; he said his job is to get the team to play hard, especially since there’s still 69 games to go in the season.

It was pretty much the same story though last night; the Pelicans lost to Golden State, 124-106.
