The Shreveport community issues an emotional plea for information after two girls die from injuries suffered in a house fire last week. Firefighters pulled nine-year-old Aaliyah Robinson and five-year-old Danielle Spearman from the burning home; they were hospitalized in critical condition until family members made the difficult decision to take them off life support. Shreveport Fire Chief Clarence Reese says while the fire is being investigated as arson, investigators are still looking for specific details.

A 17-year-old hunter from Monroe is killed by a lightning strike in Union Parish over the weekend. Colton Honeycutt was inside an elevated deer stand in a remote wooded area when a storm came through Saturday. Sheriff Dusty Gates says the area was hard for first responders to get to.
Honeycutt was hunting by himself; the only way the sheriff’s office found out was from family members who went searching for him when he didn’t return home.
After Saturday’s loss to Vanderbilt all but ended LSU’s national championship hopes, Tigers fans seem to have had it with Coach Brian Kelly. Jeff Palermo reports.

While LSU’s football team is struggling through a subpar season, its national championship baseball team is being honored at the White House this afternoon. The Tigers will be joined by the Pilots of LSU-Shreveport, who became the first college baseball team at any level to go through an entire season undefeated.
