A deadly shooting in LaPlace over an argument at the breakfast table. 24-year-old Tamyrihu (tam-uh-REE-hoo) Hubbard is charged with second-degree murder in the death of her boyfriend, 23-year-old Joshua Jones. St. John The Baptist Parish Sheriff’s investigators say the couple had been having problems for a couple years, and this was apparently the last straw.

This is the best week where college-bound seniors can get help applying for financial aid. This is FAFSA Frenzy Week, where post-secondary institutions are hosting events to help people complete their Free Applications for Federal Student Aid. Ebony Holmes with the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance says at this juncture, time is now of the essence in getting the FAFSA form completed.

LSU men’s basketball is suffering through a bad season, the second in three years with Matt McMahon as the head coach. But LSU is not planning on firing McMahon at the end of the season. Sources say the plan is to bring McMahon back and increase the program’s N-I-L budget. Tiger Rag Editor Glen Guilbeau says firing McMahon with four years left on his contract is too costly…
