During the debate, Governor Edwards had a chance to address the hiring of Johnny Anderson. In 2017, the former deputy chief of staff resigned after he was accused of sexual harassment of another employee in the governor’s office. Similiar allegations also surfaced during Anderson’s time at Southern University. Edwards says as soon as they learned of the accusations made against Anderson, he resigned….

A report from the CDC shows that Louisiana dropped in the rankings for new cases of gonorrhea and early-stage syphilis. Assistant Secretary for the state Office of Public Health Dr. Alex Billioux says Medicaid expansion has been effective in the decline.

In this latest report, Louisiana was ranked seventh for primary and secondary syphilis case rates, declining from #3 and in gonorrhea, the state fell two spots to number five.
