State lawmakers are calling for St. Tammany Parish Coroner elect Christopher Tape to resign. Tape ran unopposed in October, but it’s now come out he was arrested in New Mexico in 2001 on child sexual assault charges. The charges were later dropped but Franklinton Senator Beth Mizell says if Tape does not resign, the Northshore delegation will support a recall petition

Court records from New Mexico show Tape spanked and then rubbed the bare bottom of his girlfriend’s seven-year-old daughter. Child pornography was also allegedly found on his property. Tape denies he molested the girl and says the alleged child pornography was legal adult porn.

The college baseball season begins tomorrow and this will be the last for legendary Louisiana Tech broadcaster Dave Nitz. His first Tech broadcast was 50 years ago in the Spring of 1974. Nitz also called football and basketball games for Tech until 2022…
