After a month on the lamb, a 20 year old Preston Cason of Ville Platte is now in the clink, charged with theft and arson. Cason had several outstanding warrants, but it was the July 15th theft and torching of a pickup truck that put him on the radar of the State Fire Marshal. Spokesperson for the agency, Ashley Rodrigue says Cason made time during his run to let law enforcement know his intentions of not being located.
A family is protesting a Terrytown Catholic school’s decision to send their African American daughter home on the first day of classes for hair that the school says violates the New Orleans Archdiocese dress code. The incident has drawn national attention after a social media filmed inside Christ the King Middle School. NAACP Baton Rouge President Michael McClanahan is calling for a boycott of the school.
