Louisiana reports nearly 3,500 new COVID cases today, the largest single-day increase since the pandemic began.  Governor John Bel Edwards says they show an alarming trend two weeks after Halloween and the House Petition to overturn coronavirus restrictions in the state.

Nationally the US has been breaking daily new case records this month. Yesterday 163,000 new positive tests were discovered, a 72 percent increase over the average two weeks ago.
