Shreveport Police says they are investigating a fatal hit and run that was reported around 5am this morning on North Market Street just north of the Highway 1 split. They say a female victim was found lying on the side of the road after witnesses said she was hit by a car. The woman is not being identified at this time.

A statewide survey conducted by CBS News and the New York Times shows Republican US Representative Bill Cassidy leading Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu 47-to-41 percent in a head-to-head match-up. ULM Political Science Professor Joshua Stockley says we are seeing more and more Senate race polls that have Cassidy with a slight lead..:

He says it’s not a surprise that 12 percent of those surveyed aren’t sure who they will vote for yet because while from different parties, Cassidy and Landrieu agree on a lot of issues.
