Tropical Storm Cindy has weakened a bit as of late this morning, but rain still remains a major threat. The system is expected to make landfall on the western Louisiana coast early tomorrow morning. That’s according to State Climatologist Barry Keim, who says Cindy has sustained winds at 50 mph, and will bring in a lot of wet weather…:

In his update at this hour, Governor John Bel Edwards says they are taking the storm very seriously and they urge everyone in Louisiana to do the same.

There’s good news about injured Congressman Steve Scalise from the hospital where he’s staying. Doctors indicate the House Majority Whip, who was shot during a Congressional baseball practice last week, is now in fair condition. The FBI announced this morning that the shooter acted alone and had a history of anger issues.

The state Office of Tourism is now able to enter public-private partnerships to upgrade attractions at state parks…:
