A cop and civilian are dead after being gunned down in Jefferson Parish this morning. That’s according to Sheriff Newell Normand who says 26-year-old Officer Michael Louviere leaves behind a wife and two children and recently celebrated a birthday. He says these tragic incidents are the things officers worry when they go to bed at night…:

He identifies the suspect as 32-year-old Sylvester Holt who has not yet been apprehended.
