US Senator David Vitter announces he’s raised over $5.2 million in his bid to become Louisiana’s next governor. More than $1.1 million dollars was raised in the first quarter of 2015 and the campaign reports it has $4.2 million in cash on hand. The political action committee supporting Vitter announced today they have raised more than $4.6 million.
A bill that would stop the transfer of money from the state’s road and bridge fund to state police clears a key House panel this morning. The measure by Lafayette Representative Terry Landry would limit the amount of money going to LSP from the Transportation Fund to $40 million starting in July, then $25 million next year and $10 million in future years. From House Appropriations now heads to House floor.
