Louisiana lawmakers have convened the first veto session in the state’s history. Governor John Bel Edwards vetoed 28 bills that passed the state legislature this year. Republican House Speaker Clay Schexnayder is confident they have the two-thirds vote needed to override the governor’s veto of a bill that prohibits transgender individuals from participating in women’s sports….
