LSU had a chance to sweep Auburn on the Plains this past weekend, but mustered just two hits in a two to one loss in game three on Saturday. LSU is scheduled to host Louisiana Tech tomorrow.

The New Orleans Pelicans grabbed a much-needed win over the Charlotte Hornets 112-110 as they kept their play-in tournament hopes alive.  Guard Eric Bledsoe had 24 points for the Pelicans and Jaxson Hayes to add 18 points and 8 rebounds.  The Pels were able to overcome Terry Rozier’s 43 points without the help of Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram.  New Orleans now trails San Antonio by a game and a half for the final spot in the play-in tournament.  The Pels will take on Memphis tonight.

LSU men’s basketball has signed a five-star prospect as seven-footer Efton Reid.   Reid played last season at I-M-G Academy where he averaged 16 points and 11 rebounds a game last season and is ranked 24th nationally by 24-7 sports.  The big-man chose LSU over a number of big-time schools.

ULM took two of three from Sun Belt West leader U-T-A this past weekend. The Warhawks won a doubleheader on Saturday, five to one and then 10-to-8 at Warhawk Field. Game  Two winning pitcher in was Reid Goleman who threw a career-high four innings in relief, allowing one run. Coach Michael Federico says he wasn’t expecting that…

In baseball news, Louisiana Tech’s doubleheader yesterday against FIU in Miami was rained out.  The Bulldogs split a doubleheader with the Panthers on Saturday.
