The New Orleans Pelicans grabbed a much-needed win over the Charlotte Hornets 112-110 as they kept their play-in tournament hopes alive. Guard Eric Bledsoe had 24 points for the Pelicans and Jaxson Hayes to add 18 points and 8 rebounds. The Pels were able to overcome Terry Rozier’s 43 points without the help of Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram. New Orleans now trails San Antonio by a game and a half for the final spot in the play-in tournament. The Pels will take on Memphis tonight.

LSU men’s basketball has signed a five-star prospect as seven-footer Efton Reid. Reid played last season at I-M-G Academy where he averaged 16 points and 11 rebounds a game last season and is ranked 24th nationally by 24-7 sports. The big-man chose LSU over a number of big-time schools.
ULM took two of three from Sun Belt West leader U-T-A this past weekend. The Warhawks won a doubleheader on Saturday, five to one and then 10-to-8 at Warhawk Field. In baseball news, Louisiana Tech’s doubleheader yesterday against FIU in Miami was rained out. The Bulldogs split a doubleheader with the Panthers on Saturday.
