LSU is once again big underdogs heading into Saturday’s SEC match-up against the sixth-ranked Florida Gators.  The Gators have an explosive offense that averages 42 points per game and feature one of the best tight ends in the country in Kyle Pitts.  Here’s Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron.

In high school football action, Mandeville will take on defending champion Acadiana in the 5A quarterfinals.  Also in 5A, Destrehan will be at Ruston, Alexandria is a Zachary, and East St. John will play perennial power West Monroe.

A key game in class 4A will be Karr traveling to Eunice to take on the Bobcats.

In the 2A quarterfinals, Amite will take on Many in watch should be one of the top matchups of the night.

The Division 4 semifinals will take place tonight as Southern Lab will travel to Calvary Baptist and defending champ Ouachita Christian will be at Vermillion Catholic.

The New Orleans Saints will take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday who will be led on offense by rookie Jalen Hurts.  Here’s safety Malcolm Jenkins on facing a quarterback who is making his first NFL start.

Drew Brees was present at practice yesterday but only as a spectator, not a player.  Brees is eligible to return off of injured reserve this week but his status for Sunday’s game remains unknown.  David Onyemata did not practice yesterday and running back Latavius Murray was limited.
