Despite spending the last couple of weeks displaced from New Orleans, because of Hurricane Ida, the Saints were ready for the start of the regular and it showed in yesterday’s 38 to 3 beat down of the Green Bay Packers. Saints Quarterback Jameis Winston threw five touchdown passes and zero interceptions, while Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers was picked off twice and only threw for 133 yards. The Saints are at Carolina this Sunday. The Panthers won their regular-season opener as they grounded the New York Jets 19-14.
The LSU Tigers beat McNeese 34-7 on Saturday night, but the Bayou Bengals offense did not look good in the victory. LSU had just 306 yards of total offense and they were just 4-of-16 on third down. Orgeron says he’s a little surprised the offense has struggled through the first two games of the season. The Tigers host Central Michigan this Saturday and then they’ll open SEC play on September 25th at Mississippi State. The league announced today that game will kick-off at 11 AM.
The Ragin Cajuns have a short week of preparation after beating Nicholls on Thursday. U-L Lafayette will host Ohio on Thursday night.
