The Pelicans are the only NBA team that hasn’t won a preseason game. They’ll try to change that tonight when they host Toronto in the exhibition finale. The Advocate’s Scott Kushner says there are two roster openings still to be settled, backup point guard and backup strong forward. Tip-off is at 7 PM.

Tonight in the NFL, Doug Pederson’s Eagles visit Odell Beckham and the New York Giants.

They’ll try to get the season turned around this Saturday at Coastal Carolina.

Louisiana Tech is also coming off a frustrating loss last week to UAB, where they scored just one touchdown. The Bulldogs are at Texas-San Antonio on Saturday. Tech should benefit this Saturday by the return of leading rusher Jaqwis Dancy, who has missed the last two weeks with an injury. Israel Tucker is also expected to play after getting just five carries against UAB.

Northwestern State hosts Sam Houston State on Saturday. The Demons need to get their offense going, they’ve only scored 27 points in their last two games.
