LSU sophomore defensive back Kelvin Joseph has reportedly entered the NCAA’s transfer portal. The former four-star recruit from Scotlandville High School played a lot as a freshman, but he was suspended for the bowl game. Jospeh tweeted out that if you don’t know my situation please be quiet and don’t judge. Joseph can still return to LSU.

Joseph’s former classmate at Scotlandville High School in Baton Rouge, Javonte Smart, has announced he will return for his sophomore season. Smart is one of six players from LSU’s SEC championship team to enter the NBA draft. Tremont Waters and Naz Reid are not expected to come back, but there’s still time for Skylar Mays, Marlon Taylor and Emmitt Williams to remove their name from draft consideration.

The Pelicans have hired Trajan Langdon as their new general manager. After a long playing career in Europe, Langdon served as a scout for Spurs and was a member of their front office for their last championship. Langdon was most recently an assistant G-M for the Brooklyn Nets, who made the playoffs this past season.

LSU right-hander Landon Marceaux has been named SEC Baseball Co-Freshman of the Week. The Destrehan native pitched a career-high seven innings and held Auburn to one run on only two hits and had a career-high seven strikeouts in a win on Friday night.

LSU Baseball Coach Paul Mainieri says he still has confidence in Zack Hess, even though he blew the save in an extra inning loss to Auburn on Saturday….

LSU enters the SEC Tournament as the five-seed and the Tigers will play South Carolina tomorrow night.

ULM and UL-Lafayette will play tomorrow night in the opening round of the Sun Belt Tournament, which is single elimination. The Warhawks will take on South Alabama and the Cajuns will face Appalachian State.
