The Pelicans are the talk of the NBA today after reportedly landing All-star center DeMarcus Cousins in a blockbuster deal with the Sacramento Kings. New Orleans also receives swingman Omri Casspi in the deal, while the Pels give up Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway and their first round and second round picks in this year’s draft. Cousins has one more year left on his current deal and he’ll become a free agent during the summer of 2018.

The addition of Cousins should help the Pelicans make the playoffs. They are two-and-a-half-games back of Denver for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference and there’s 25 games left.

There’s three regular season games left for Louisiana Tech and they have a six-game winning streak. The Dunkin Dogs are in firm control of second place in Conference USA heading into Thursday’s matchup with North Texas.
