Jameis Winston will get the start tonight after Taysom Hill started the preseason opener. Saints coach Sean Payton told NBC’s Peter King that he hopes to name a starter before the final preseason game for the Saints on Saturday against Arizona.

Trevor Lawrence is expected to start at QB for the Jaguars. Lawerence returns to the Superdome, a venue where he suffered the only two losses of his college career. One of those defeats was to LSU in the College Football National Championship and in last year’s semi-final contest loss to Ohio State. Kick-off tonight is at 7 PM.

With less than two weeks to go before the season opener against the UCLA Bruins, the LSU Tigers top two running backs are both hurt. Juniors Ty Davis-Price and John Emery Junior did not participate in Saturday’s scrimmage because of nagging injuries. So sophomore Josh Williams led all rushers with 66 yards on the ground and a touchdown. True freshman Armani Goodwin had six carries on 25 yards. Orgeron hopes Davis-Price and Emery return soon…

At the Little League World Series, the Lafayette Little League faces an elimination game today at 4 PM as they will face Ohio’s West Side All-Stars. Louisiana is 1-and -1 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, they were no-hit in its first game by South Dakota but rebounded to beat Pennsylvania.
