After taking two of three from Texas A-and-M this past weekend, the Tigers have moved into the Top 10 in the new D-1 baseball poll. LSU is ranked ninth, moving up four spots from last week. In the Sun Belt this past weekend, the Ragin Cajuns took two of three from Arkansas State, winning both games of a doubleheader on Saturday, while ULM swept Georgia State. But both UL and the Warhawks remain in the bottom of the standings.

Lousiana Tech baseball is on a roll. The Bulldogs swept their second straight Conference USA series taking two of three from U-T-S-A. Tech has won seven straight league games and they’ll visit the Ragin Cajuns tomorrow and then next weekend, they have a big series against Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton. The Owls are 11-and-1 in league play.

In the Southland, Southeastern Louisiana is tied for third after taking two of three from UNO. Northwestern State is tied for fifth place after beating Nicholls three to two seven innings to complete a sweep of the Colonels.

In the NFL…Saints free agent nose tackle Tyeler Davison is reportedly visiting the Atlanta Falcons. Davison started 12 games for the Black and Gold last season and had a couple of sacks and a forced fumble.

The Pelicans beat the Sacramento Kings 133 to 129 behind 31 points from Ian Clark. With one game left, New Orleans has the ninth worst record in the NBA.
