LSU is on the verge of going 2-and-0 at the College World Series. The Tigers lead UCLA seven to three in the seventh inning at the time of this report. We’ll have more in future news and sportscasts.

Florida State left-hander Hudson Rowan has committed to Louisiana Tech. According to Bleed Tech Blue, Rowan has a fastball in the upper 90s. Rowan pitched for two seasons for the Seminoles and appeared in 26 games, made one start and had an ERA of 9.90. He did not pitch this past season.

Sterlington shortstop Miller Sheets has been named Mr. Baseball by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. The son of former Major Leaguer, Ben Sheets, hit .435 with three home runs and 57 RBIs as he helped the Panthers win a state championship. Sheets just completed his junior season, and he’s committed to play at Baylor.

ESPN-dot-com college football reporter Pete Thamel is reporting we could see another round of realignment and Louisiana Tech could be one of the schools on the move. Thamel reports Texas State could be looking at joining a new Pac-12 and that would open the door for Tech to join the Sun Belt. The ESPN article says Tech is a favorite to join the Sun belt because of the natural rivalries with ULM, the Cajuns and Southern Miss. And Tech has strong baseball and softball programs. Western Kentucky would be the other option to leave Conference USA and join the Sun Belt.

The SEC has announced the home and away opponents for women’s basketball for the 2026 conference schedule. The Lady Tigers will host Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina and Tennessee.

LSU will visit Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Texas A-and-M and Oklahoma.

LSU will host Texas and also travel to Austin.
