The top ranked LSU baseball team found itself down seven to one in the third inning last night to North Dakota State, but came back to win 11 to nine over the Bison. The first few innings were ugly for the Bayou Bengals, five walks, four wild pitches and three errors. But the Tigers got some good pitching from Chandler Dorsey, Zac Cowan and Casan Evans and clutch hitting from Steven Milam, who had a two-run double in the eighth inning to snap a nine-nine tie. The Saints have released Jamaal Williams after two unproductive seasons in New Orleans. Williams only rushed for 470 yards with the Black and Gold and his release saves the team one-point-six million dollars toward the salary cap.
LSU is reportedly close to naming Missouri defensive line coach Al Davis as the Tigers new D-Line coach, replacing Bo Davis, who left LSU for the Saints. Davis played at Arkansas and he’s been assistant coach at Mizzou since the 2021 season.
The LSU men’s basketball team fell to 3-and-14 in the SEC with a 95 to 64 loss to Kentucky. The Tigers close out the regular season by hosting 22nd ranked Texas A-and-M on Saturday.
The Ragin Cajuns eliminated ULM from the Sun Belt Tournament with a 73 to 69, ending the coaching career of Warhawks coach Keith Richard, who is retiring. U-L Lafayette will face 10th seeded Old Dominion tonight.
