Bad night for the most part for Louisiana college basketball teams last night…LSU hit nine first-half three-pointers but played poorly again in the second half and lost to Georgia 81 to 62. Georgia State hammered ULM 97 to 64. Georgia Southern edged the Ragin Cajuns 83 to 82, but Tulane topped UTSA 61 to 60 in San Antoinio. The Green Wave are now 7-and-3 in the American Athletic Conference.

Tonight, Louisiana Tech is at Liberty looking for its first conference road win and the sixth ranked LSU women’s basketball team in Missouri at 6:30.

The Pelicans lost their seventh straight last night, falling to the Denver Nuggets 144 to 119. But the big story is New Orleans has traded Brandon Ingram to the Toronto Raptors for a couple of bench players and a couple of draft picks. Ingram was part of the blockbuster 2019 Anthony Davis trade. Ingram is averaging 22 points a game this season, but has not played since December because of an ankle injury.

LSU football coach Brian Kelly vehemently denies the accusation he was not there for former Tigers safety Greg Brooks Junior following his brain surgery. According to Brooks’ family, the surgery to remove a tumor, resulted in multiple seizures that left him permanently disabled. In an interview on ABC’s Good Morning America, Brooks’ father says no one from LSU’s coaching staff has reached out since October 2023. Kelly says that allegation struck a nerve with him…

Brooks’ family filed a lawsuit last year against LSU and Our of the Lady Lake Hospital claiming both the university and medical providers mishandled the diagnosis of his tumor and the surgery.

Kelly also provided update on backup quarterback Colin Hurley, who was involved in a serious car wreck last month. The coach Hurley is recovering in his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida….
