Jayden Daniels’ magical season for the Washington Commanders continues for at least another week. To the surprise of nearly everyone in the NFL world, perhaps except for Daniels himself, the Commanders ousted the NFC’s top seed, the Detroit Lions, 45-31, in the Divisional Playoffs. The Heisman Trophy-winning former LSU quarterback said the Lions didn’t go 15-and-2 in the regular season for nothing.

Daniels and the Commanders will face the Eagles in the NFC Championship game this Sunday afternoon. Philadelphia held off a late charge from the Rams to beat Los Angeles 28 to 22 and last night the Bills defeated the Ravens 27 to 25 to advance to Kansas City where they’ll play the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game at 5:30 on Sunday. The winners advance to Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans on February 9th.

 

The fifth ranked LSU women’s basketball team improved to 20-and-0 on the season with an 80 to 63 win over Florida in Gainesville on Sunday. It sets up a showdown with South Carolina on Thursday night. The second ranked Gamecocks are the defending national champs and are 18-and-1 on the season. The LSU men’s basketball team lost to 11th ranked Texas A-and-M on Saturday night 68 to 57. Turnovers and rebounding once again an issue for Coach Matt McMahon’s team…
