New Orleans tips off the season tonight against Memphis.

LSU Football Coach Brian Kelly says cornerback Zy Alexander will miss some time after suffering a lower leg injury last Saturday. Defensive tackle Mekhi Wingo also could be a out while, but offensive tackle Emery Jones returns to practice today.

Frustrating loss for the Louisiana Tech football team last night as they jumped out to a 16-3 lead in the second quarter, but ended up losing 27-24 to New Mexico State. The Bulldogs had two costly turnovers in the second half.

Hank Bachmeier got the start at quarterback for Tech. His first start in over a month and the Boise State transfer was 20 of 26 for 238 yards and a touchdown pass. He also rushed for two touchdowns. Coach Sonny Cumbie liked what what he saw from Bachmeier…

Tech is now 3-and-6 on the season and it will take them winning their final three games in order to be bowl eligible. The Bulldogs next game is November fourth at undefeated Liberty.
