LSU’s ace pitcher Paul Skenes was not on the top of his game and the Tigers’ bats were held in check yesterday as the Bayou Bengals dropped into the loser’s bracket of the SEC Tournament with a five to four loss to Arkansas. So LSU will face Texas A-and-M at 3 PM in an elimination game. The Aggies will be playing in their fourth game in four days.

The Ragin Cajuns and Louisiana Tech were also sent to the loser’s bracket in their respective conference tournaments. McNeese and Northwestern State face each other this afternoon in an elimination game in the Southland Tournament. Grambling is 2-0 in the SWAC Tourney after beating Southern seven to three last night.

The 50-win U-L Lafayette softball team makes its first appearance in a Super Regional series tonight since 2016 when the Cajuns face Washington in game one of a best of three series. The Cajuns won the Baton Rouge regional despite committing five errors in the championship game against LSU. Coach Gerry Glasco says they need to keep the errors to a minimum this weekend…

At one o’ clock this afternoon, the LSU women’s basketball team will be honored for winning the national championship with a ceremony at the White House. President Biden will celebrate both the Lady Tigers and the national champion UCONN men’s basketball team.
