LSU has lost its last two mid-week contests, while the Lions are having a down year, 19-21 overall, 4-11 in the Southland. First pitch is at 6:30.

Also tonight, Northwestern State is at Louisiana Tech. The Demons beat the Bulldogs eight to seven in 13 innings on April 4th in Natchitoches. First pitch at J-C Love Field at Pat Patterson Park is at 6 PM.

The Saints have reportedly declined the fifth year option for offensive guard Cesar Ruiz. This means the 2020 first-round pick will be an unrestricted free agent after the 2023 season, if the Saints do not re-sign him before free agency starts in 2024. Ruiz struggled at times his first two seasons, but was more consistent last season until a Lisfranc injury ended his season in Week 16.

Former South Carolina assistant Jimmy Lindsey is the new defensive line coach for LSU. Lindsey has over 20 years of collegiate coaching experience and Coach Brian Kelly says he has a proven track record of developing D-Linemen.

Ragin Cajuns cornerback Trey Amos has entered the transfer portal. The fifth year senior and 2024 draft prospect is reportedly drawing interest from LSU, Alabama, Florida, Michigan State and Miami and other Power Five programs. Amos had 26 tackles and eight passes defensed last season.
