Saints Coach Dennis Allen says there is no timeline on when Tyrann Mathieu will report to training camp. Allen says they are allowing Honey Badger his space and they’ll welcome him with open arms when he returns to the team. Woodlawn of Baton Rouge Quarterback Rickie Collins decommitted from Purdue last night and there’s speculation Collins could join LSU’s 2023 recruting class. 24-7 sports ranks Collins as the 13th best quarterback in the nation and 12th best recruit in Louisiana. The Tigers do not have a quarterback in their 2023 recruiting class.

Former Vanderbilt shortstop Carter Young will not play at LSU next season, because he signed a one-point-three million dollar contract with the Baltimore Orioles. Young was selected in the 17th round by Baltimore, despite hitting .207 for the Commodores this past season.

U-L Lafayette athletics director Doctor Bryan Maggard has received a one-year contract extension which means Maggard is now under contract through June 2027. Maggard was hired in 2017 and last season the Cajuns won a Sun Belt title in football, baseball and softball, plus raised more than 30-million dollars, the school’s most successful year in fundraising.
