The 13th ranked LSU Tigers return to the PMAC tonight for an SEC matchup against Florida. On Saturday, the Bayou Bengals will host 5th ranked Tennessee, but Coach Will Wade says the Tigers can not look past this defensive minded Gators team…

The Gators are 6-6- in league play, while the Tigers are 11-1, a half game back of Tennessee for first place. The Vols defeated Vanderbilt 58-46 last night in their lowest offensive output of the season.

In college hoops tonight….Nicholls tries to take down Southland Conference leader Sam Houston State, while UNO hosts Southeastern Louisiana. The Lions and Priaveteers are tied for third in the league standings.

In football news…LSU defensive tackle Dominic Livingston says in a social media post that family issues are why he’s entered the NCAA Transfer portal. The Houston native played in just one game as a true freshman last season.

The Saints name Phil Galiano as an assistant special teams coach. He was the special teams coordinator at Penn State last season and also served as an assistant special teams coach for Tampa Bay from 2012-13.

The top ranked LSU baseball team improved to 4-0 yesterday with a 6-5 win over Southeastern Louisiana. The Tigers got good work out of the bullopen from Matt Beck, Devin Fontentot and Todd. Peterson got the win and shortstop Josh Smith had two hits and two runs, but also got hit by a pitch in the face and is ok.

Nicholls tied a program record with 25 runs in a 25-5 rout over Alcorn State in Thibodaux. Brady Bell belted a grand slam.

Tonight, Louisiana Tech hosts the Ragin Cajuns for the Bulldogs home opener.
